7th of september I had a beautiful hiking trip to a little hill called Nipkollen. This is an example of norwegian nature at its best. The weather was warm and the sun was shining from a clear, blue skie. The leaves had started to get colorful and the air was clear. I felt I could breath easier, the stress went away and I felt calm. The one thing about beeing in the nature is that it is quiet and peaceful. Do you ever wonder about how to reduce stress in your life ? To be in the nature is one of the things that can help you. We need to breath fresh air in our lungs and to turn off all the noise around us.

The trip is not too hard or steep, and it takes 3 hours in total, so you can walk there in the evening or a weekend. So this is a trip I can recommend for both families with children and other people with average fitness.
Nipkollen is 544 meter below sea level. When you get to the top you can see to the north and the west, and there is an amazing wiew. You can also have your lunch or meal on the top, there is several places to sit down and enjoy a break. I felt refreshed and calm during the trip and after. The stress I felt before the trip went away, and it was very good for my head and my well beeing.
Nipkollen is in Nannestad in Akershus County. To get there take the E16 towards Gardermoen and Hønefoss, take the exit towards Maura and drive through Maura and up towards Nordåsen. After 1.5 km there is a roundabout, turn right at the roundabout where you will find a small car park at the top of Holkebylia. It might be a good tip to enter Kløvberget Terrasse on the GPS. After parking, return to the roundabout and follow the road 50 m back down, the walk starts at the edge of the forest on the right. You see a sign for Nipkollen, which is in the forest next to the residential buildings there. Enjoy your trip ! (Visitnorway, 2024)
